I started writing this in my comments from my last post but it ended up being LONG so I thought I'd just do a post for it...

Last night several, if not all people in my address book from my hotmail account, recieved an email. An email not from me. I had no idea until my ex husband emailed me and asked 'what is this???' If you recieved an email from me with someone's name in the subject line....do not open it or the link that was in the email. I have no idea what the link goes to or how the emails were sent but trust...they were not from me...

Except the one with the subject line 'I do believe that either I have a virus or something so if you recieve something from this email address...do not open it.‏' That one was definitely from me.

As of now, I've deleted my address book in my hotmail account. Last night I did a whole virus scan on my computer and let it run during the night. This morning I got the all clear but I still felt better leaving it and my modem off for the day. Normally my computer stays on ALL day until it decides to go into sleep mode on its own and then I let is sleep for awhile. Does your computer stay on all day or do you shut off off every night? My mom swears by turning it off and on several times during the week but me...I let it make it's mind up and do it on its own....

Which leads to my tirade on hackers, and virus'. WHY people??? Why do stuff like this? Why do people think its fun to come up with things like this and for what purpose? There are more important things and issues going on in the world at large, and I'm sure, in their own lives. By 'their' I mean people who come up with this crap. I have a friend that is a programmer and I asked that question a few years back ( I think it was in response to some virus that was running the country crazy) and he said that is how their minds work. Its exercise for the brain.

I say do a cross word puzzle...same results.

Stay blessed, my peeps....it is going to be a gorgeous day! Blue skies...bright and sunny. I decided to do FOR THE LOVE OF COLOR WEEK with Kristin for the next seven days so I've got some photo's I've got to take so I can post them later on in the day here and on my flickr page...I just wanted to get this PSA out first thing this morning...

Your friend is right Jakki..it's how their brains work and what they find stimulating. They do it because they can. Which doesn't make it right at all. We would never dream of it because our brains don't function that way. And they don't see us as "people" or individuals, they just see what they can do because it's there, waiting to be done.

Time spent doing something better, more productive? Absolutely. They just don't see it that way. xo
