EXHAUSTED/SUNBURNED/SORE….jalil asked me to do a field trip with him that was loosely described as Survival Skillz….they had read some book and since one of the teachers is a Survivor watcher, I’m guessing this is where she got her idea. I thought…sure…sounds fun. When we got to the park (after walking) and I could see some of the stations…I’m like…’damn. This is NOT what I thought it would be’ . By the 3rd station, one of the qualifications was building a shelter to which I politely asked could a cheap motel be considered ‘roughing it’. He politely told me that I was going to flunk that station. HEY! I raised my hand before I said it….
SHOCKED…yesterday, during one of our walks…to hear a kid behind me singing the words LOUDLY ‘spread your legs for my birthday’. I think I put Linda Blair to shame with my head turning technique. I told him around me, I was not going to allow a 13 year old to sing that song so he betta but his NEW iPod up if he didn’t want me to have a new one. Jalil was mortified but the kid plopped down and sat with me a lunch and talked and talked so I don’t think it’s a big deal.
EXCITED….SCHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUT FOR THE SUMMMMMMMMMMER…well not yet but in two days it will be.
UPSET…went to a graduation the other night. The school was a small Christian school that did both the kindergarten and the Senior graduation together. There was 4 kindergartners going to the 1st grade and 8 students graduating from high school. The kindergartners performed several songs but one song there was a little boy who had to perform a speaking part during the school. He was the cutest boy who that from the moment he was up on stage…well performed. He ‘fought’ for the mic…sang loudly, talked at the wrong times. He had the cutest deepest dimples I’ve ever seen and I found myself taking tons of pictures of him. Anyway, during one of the songs he had a speaking part and when it came time to do it…he got a touch of the giggles. He kept saying that his line made him laugh and it would throw him into a fit. Once the song was over with the teacher rose to get up from the piano. As she got up walked across the stage to her seat…just from the set of her jaw and the grip she had off the tail end of her blouse…she was mad is an understatement. She glanced up and locked eyes with a man that was the head master of the school and bugged her eyes out at him and shook her head. As if to say ‘I cant DEAL with him!!!’. When she shifted her gaze a little bit over…her eyes locked eyes with mine. And lets just say I let her know ‘I seen what you did. I don’t like it which makes you a person I don’t like.’ This upsets me. I cant even begin to explain how much. I know the child was trying and I know it can be difficult. BUT. If it exhausted her and put her at her wits end…don’t do it at a venue where another parent can see that emotion or even worse, the parent or family member see how mad you are . AT THEIR CHILD.

The past couple of weeks have been bad in the way of moods. I’ve been having major mood swings. its taking a huge toll out of me. I mean..my skin…urgh…looks horrible. My oiliness is acting up and I find myself rubbing my face at least twice a day with a PAPERTOWEL. My size 18 pants that I used to stick my arm down the front or the back are now pretty snug and I can barely do that. And no, you may not ask why I stick my arm down my pants….I’m not sleeping even when I feel exhausted. I tried to listen to some music on the way to work and found myself crying for no good reason. After work last night, Jalil was staring at me and I finally asked ‘what?!’ and he said ‘I’m tryna see how your day went…it didn’t go very good.’ Now THAT…that’s bad. And I’d love to go into it about work but I really and truly do not want to start that. Needless to say, today is a state holiday, I have it off and I intend to just…BE.
My iris's or iris'????
I just think this is a cool shot. No, you cant see Jalil's face but its neat. I think so.

CRAVING….some wild mushrooms…just the thought made my mouth water…
My parents just finished redoing their upstairs bathroom and now my father has a hair up his butt about ‘they can open up their deck to wrap around the back side of their house’…last night, my boys and Lacey went to help them unload some posts. Yes, I believe in making any child around me work…I don’t care who you are, who your parents are, boys or girls. You help out. These pictures are from last night and everyone unloading some of the posts. Except me...I had to man the camera....

Okoye (right) and my nephew Teron when Okoye was 12I am reading the book The Secret Life of Bee’s. I seen the movie awhile back and when I got the DVD I watched the EXTRA’S. (I love watching the EXTRA’S on every movie. Out-takes, deleted scenes, the Making Of’s…all of those. Love them) In the EXTRA’S they had Sue Monk Kidd doing a walk through of the set and for some odd reason she, not the movie, made me want to read the book. Well now that I am reading the book, I cant help but have Dakota Fanning’s voice in my head.
I don’t know if its this book or what but I have decided that I am in over load mode. Over load with telephones, computers, TV’s, music…you name it. I don’t even think I thought about it, until I turned the CD off in my car, that my overload was really that bad. Most times, I hope in my car, before I even put my seat belt on, I’m scanning for a song, radio station, something. Once I get to what I want to listen to, I crank that bad boy up as high as it can go and I THEN pull out of my drive way. I haven’t turned my system on in my car in about 4 days. Take that back. I craved to hear Beautiful by India.Arie so I turned that on and I swear to you, it hit me like the first time I heard it and I cried. Anywho, I slowly started turning things off or down in and around me. I’ve come to realize a few things...
My boys love to talk to me. A lot. I’m serious…A LOT
I believe I like the noise so I don’t have to hear my inner chatter and I know this because the more I hear the inner chatter the more I realize I have issues
HAVE A WONDERFUL WEEKEND….
