Is there anything better than sherbert ice cream???? I mean really, seriously...is there?

Yes folks...this is what I am eating and yes I am eating this on a Saturday night, IN FRONT OF MY COMPUTER, while I read and catch up on my blogs...
one of my nephew's is spending the night...they are upstairs watching dvd's...mainly scary movies. I think the last movie I seen on was the I Know What You Did Last Summer movies...my nephew said the sweetest thing tonight. 'i miss how you used to make us those sandwiches! that was fun!' See, when they were little or younger, me and my ex didnt have a lot of money. (truth be told...not much has changed in that department) but we never told family they couldnt stay...we just...figured it all out and usually it worked out in the end. So if anyone wanted to spend the night...they could. What I would do was get out a huge serving tray/platter and make up 7 or 8 sandwiches of deli meats and cheese...slice them into 4's and place them around a huge pile of chips. The kids loved it. I just didnt know HOW MUCH. Looking back...I understand why they liked it...
it was just so simple and sometimes simple is perfect.
Soooooooooo tonight...instead of going out for dinner guess what we had....
sandwiches and chips
And just like when they were younger I ate the last one because they couldnt decide who had the most or who had the least and everyone said how unfair it all is...
gotta love it
Tomorrow is Sunday...the last day of the weekend...enjoy it and stay blessed!

I love sherbert and sorbet...and gelato. Have you ever had Gelato? It's very similar to sherbert. There are several places that make their own in st. Louis.

Warms my heart! Children have the most wonderful ability to remind us of simple things...that something done with love was remembered for the love and not the expense or the magnitude. I'm glad you revisited that memory on Saturday night! xo
