working in the yard this weekend I noticed that a corner of the fence line was becoming overgrown with little small tree's. I decided to tackle them...I didnt really touch them but I would sometimes grab it and pull it to the side so that I could get them with the clippers. I started a pile and eventually my oldest came out to see if they could help...

I told him to start just picking the piles up and toss them on the pile that we keep to take to the compost site. Pretty soon my youngest joined and we kept up a steady pace until...

I got bit by something and I smacked my arm, scratched it and instantly felt a burning sensation...

I looked at the 'small tree's' and thought ummm we might ALSO have poison oak or sumac... we already have poison ivy and have NEVER broke out with a rash or anything...

but poison sumac....didnt know how we would react...

well...it wasnt a good reaction....

so now we all have the rash and we are trying our hardest not to scratch....

as you see, we have all varieties in the yard. I personally think its pretty. And since we've never reacted to it....I've never really thought to much at trying to kill it. I let it grow...we pull it out barehanded, push it too the side...all that. After everytime, we go directly to taking a shower and throw the clothes in the wash IMMEDIATELY...but this time...

we arent so lucky....

and it sucks big time.

right now we have the topical benedryl and since we use a lot of aveeno products for Jalil's skin, aveeno has a anti-itch cream with calamine and something or other ingrediant. so far its doing the trick. it hasnt spread and it only itch's every once in awhile.
