Day 4 of WITL...

sunday was a little bit different. the week before last my parents found out that my father had prostrate cancer. I went to a consultation with my parents last tuesday. we are staying positive and we constantly tell people to keep the whole family uplifted in prayer. As with most families...my father is the center of the family and for that reason my mom wanted to wait until we knew everything there was to know before telling the older grandkids. My brother and sisters knew but she wanted to have a dinner sunday to tell everyone. so this day...is all about that...

on my my way to my parents home...ummm yess...i took the picture while driving.... bad Jakki....bad Jakki.... even though we live in different cities/towns...truth be know I live about 15 minutes from my mom and dad and I love it. we are pretty close. before i turned 18, i loved my parents but 'like....whatever...they dont KNOW what its like to be young!!!'. it took me moving out of my parents house and living on my own to realize how smart they really are

i love their relationship. both of my boys grew up with my niece Angela...more like a sister. he HAD to have her listen to his beats...

my mom, talking..enjoying her time outside which normally...she doesnt. a few months ago she was standing in the exact same spot and nearly broke her leg when a snake slithered out of the flower bed. my mom is scared.to.death. of snakes...

my son okoye laughing at his Papa...my dad. this was before we had the talk which after, my son took it pretty hard. the kids tend to look at my father in awe...they know and are aware of his health issues but they still just think 'Papa' is invincible.

my mom's favorite dish to have during the summer , sliced tomatoes and onions with salt pepper with vinegar drizzled on top...makes my stomch growl now....

one of my great nieces, Syncere....at first she was not happy to be forced to play with the 'babies'.... she got over herself after awhile and joined in on all the fun the 'babies' were having with the bubbles, running and playing and having fun.

my ms mia....this little girl has got my heart...I aint gonna lie....she's my mia-peahya.....

we are a pontiac family...nothing else i can say about that LOL

but this is how both sides of the street looked in front of my parents house. now this is just SOME of us...not everyone was there but we have a huge family....a strong family and just like every thing else...we will fight and survive this too...just a speedbump in this thing called life....
